plushy plush!

So remember that I told you that the Crafty Bastards Show was so cool and beyond busy that I could not even go shopping? Well a couple of guys made this cool Plush Toys @ Crafty Bastards video, there you can see interviews with the cool Plush artists that were selling at the show. How groovy it that?

But what is totally cool is that my crafty friend Deanna is there chatting about her Missing Monsters! She's also a fellow Richmond Craft Mafia girl.

The cool thing about Missing Monsters is that you help create your own monster. You can get a custom made monster. Now that is cool. My son asks to fill out the "missing monsters report" every other day. I have saved his "report" and I plan to surprise him with it at Christmas!

But is gets better... when your Monster has been found she takes a photo for you and send it to you. You get to see just where she found you monster at. That is my favorite part.

You can also adopt a baby monster from World of Mirth, the coolest store in Richmond! And soon you can get them on her Etsy site.

So go and find your missing monster today, it is there just waiting to be found!

For you locals you can also meet the maker at the Centerville Pumpkin Festival on October 20th 10-4. Yours truly will be there as well as many other groovy crafters!

Crafty Bastards part 2

Richmond Craft Mafia, originally uploaded by RaygunRobyn.

Here is a great picture that was taken by our neighbor, Raygun Robyn, maker of kick ass t-shirts and other fun stuff! Check out her interview on the Crafty Bastard Blog -- now that is a shout out!!!! I was unable to take my own pictures at the show this go 'round, as I left without my camera battery.

Crafty Bastards was great, and we had a steady flow of peeps! We had great booth neighbors with loads of cool loot. Some of my favorites were...

Norfolk Craft Mafia! Sloan and Ashley were great to hang out with on a super hot day!

My Favorite Mirror, why oh why didn't I get a mouse pad? Man, I really regret that!

These are just a few that I love-love-love! I will try and add more later, but I have got to crank out some aprons before the kid's Recycled Treasures class. Have a great one!

crafty bastards, a banner show

Can I just say I love this show! What is not to love about a craft show called Crafty Bastards. I love it a lot! Despite bad weather we made out great, did some good shopping and met tons of great peeps. My best show yet!

The top selling item had to be the Modern June Oilcloth Banners. I tell you we just can't make enough of them! Holiday Banners are coming to my Modern June Etsy shop soon, so keep your eyes open for those to be listed soon. I hope to have a few more Halloween banners ASAP. Jennifer is busy cutting the super fab ORANGE LACE oilcloth now. I sold out of the Christmas and Halloween banners this weekend. But don't fret, April has a dozen in the works, 6 are spoken for already (Feathernesters) but there will be plenty to go around!

Trust me there will be loads of goodies for everyone.

They are just laying there while I think about new ideas!

I just love balled fringe! I've had this for years, I gotta use it soon!
I bought my reindeer at the Atlanta Country Living show from Art Goodies
Pebbles still hangs out with us everyday! I bought her at Crafty Bastards from Sloan

crafty bastards

Craftapalooza is over! The sun can shine again as the Richmond Craft Mafia rain makers are ready to settle down for a nice quite month. Our group booth extravaganza was full of trying experiences. Somedays Mother Nature was not behaving, and the group faced monsoons, record high temperatures, horrible thunderstorms, as well as wicked sunburns. There were important items left safely at home in Virginia, keys locked in cars, people got lost in NYC for 3 hours, and let us not forget about bad Italian food. Let's just say we learned a lot, and now we are all home safe and sound.

The economy seems to showing itself this season. I too, have cut down on my retail therapy. But thanks to the good old fashion barter system, I have a new friend I'll show you later this week. For now, try to say out of the horrible heat.
