Vintage Tray Wall

I am so in love with my vintage tray wall that I finished up today. It's only taken me 3 months to get it all done. Why do personal projects take me so darn long? I've got to take some each week to get a little bit done for my home!! I have to say that the Country Living Fair sure did motivate me to nest a bit more!!
I bought the wire hangers from a very kind Etsy shop ower!! Marmee Rob's Shoppe They were great for the bigger trays, nice and sturdy!! For the smaller trays I used the sticky disc's that I got off of Ebay. I have to say they were pretty wonderful, just make sure you get out a measuring tape and really get the disks centered. You know I learned that one the hard way, at least you can reposition them if you don't get them right the first time.
I love these so much, I've been collecting them since we moved into the house 14 years ago. If my memory serves me right the large round coffee tray was the first one and was gift from my MIL!

Which one is my favorite? I have to say that the 2 BBQ trays really do make my heart sing!
What about the extras? I've got to have some laying around that I can use, don't I? We use our trays as project trays. Lego's, embroidery, or homework. Trays are great to keep things in one spot.

random news...

Well, I'm back and tired as all get out! I have lots to share about the Buyers Markets. It was really wonderful, long and tiring, but wonderful none the less!! I was just starting to feel like myself again when we realized it was time to say goodbye to our sweet Willow Kitty. I tell you it just hasn't been an easy week.

Here are a few tiny distractions from family life...

Etsy Front Page August 1st.

Indie Fixx shout out!!! We missed seeing Jen at the show... hope you feel better this week!

We got to see a Screening of Handmade Nation, which was a total treat, especially since there was a Q&A with Faith Lavine afterwards. We bought books and had her sign them!
We are such fans! What an honor to be apart of the whole indie craft movement.

I will post some pics of the show once family life settles down again. Right now my family is just spoiling the old girl as much as possible. Saying good bye to Willow Kitty will be so hard.

blog-blog-blog

What to blog about today? This blogging everyday is hard. I won't bore you with my "super productive day" details. Instead, I will show you some photos from yesterday's day off! I was a real housewife, through and through. Shoot... I had to be, my house was a disaster and we were in code RED laundry crisis!

Watch it now! This is a picture for the flickr group Apron Outfits -- you take a shoot of yourself wearing an apron. Dress-up for grown-ups! You'll find some super fun photos and the best aprons around! And damn if that door isn't covered in finger prints already!!!!

Fall Ledges -- this is really new for me, but I like the colors. Heck, I'm glad I finally took down Halloween. After I took this pic, I bought a few more gourds at Azalea Garden Center to add a bit more orange and yellow. I would love to have some more green pillar candles too. But, I am trying to "use what I have." Another great flickr group!

My Grandma and Granddad brought Irish Cottage music boxes back from Ireland way too many years ago. They must have bought 20 at least -- one for everyone in the family. I finally got mine about two years ago! And it makes me so happy! I miss my Grr and Granddad!

Like my fire in the fireplace? They are twinkle lights. Dorky but fun! I love the vintage suitcase as a side table. Right after I bought this great suitcase, Aidan changed the code on the lock before i could write it down, so now we can never get inside the silly thing. On top is Maddie's first embroidery project!

Maddie had fun with the camera at the garden shop. Oh man, I love me some Johnny jump ups!

I am off to watch the new season of Project Runway! Have fun.
