I figure it takes a real woman to know that she's not woman enough to actually wear 4 inch heels no matter how darn "Modern June" they are. I carried this one shoe around with me for a few day, but I only slipped it on once. I actually wondered if it was okay to own a $120.00 pair of shoes that you knew you would never ever wear. I think we both know the answer, so it's back to Amazon for these bad girls.
Every year I treat myself to a new pair of RED birthday shoes. My love of red shoes came from the movie Chocolat. If memory serves me right, that is the only color shoes that the main character, Vianne wears. What's not to love about Vianne? She's mysterious, powerful and gutsy, not to mention sexy as all get out!!! So, I figure if red shoes makes me a bit more like that, I'm all for it!
Well today, I set out for a bit of shopping with my dear friend Dawn. We started out at our local DSW, I must say it was a damn good shoe day. Not only did I get a pair of the requisite red shoes, but a pair of yellow and green flats too. I'm set for spring! Now all I have to wait for is the perfect spring day (a long wait)!
Yesterday we went to Don's office and had lunch, all I saw were cute girls with great shoes. Makes me almost wish I had a real job to dress for. So here I am checking out Zappos.com to see what I would wear to the Modern June cooperate office, tee hee! I fell for the Gabriella Rocha line!
I want these shoes! I know exactly what my Mother would say "why do you wear such ugly shoes?" Cuz I love them! They seem so period! So dated, ya know? These are like a funky version of a 19th century woman's shoe crossed with a mans oxford!!! Does it get any better?
I have been watching Pride and Prejudice while sewing up a storm. Well I am listening to it! I am in a Jane Austen kind of mood! If you look back at the dresses of that day you will see a very similar silhouette to what you can find for sale at the mall. Very romantic and pregnant looking!
Can you tell that I am stalling? I really have tons of work to do. I have piles of junk to find a home for, my dining room has become unfinished school project palace. Not to mention dinner to make!
Ok, so off to work with my lame self! I will report back with some Christmas products, the ones that had me up for hours last night worrying about. I see now why I am so cranky today, I forgot about my two hours of reading spree. I am reading some silly book about some dumb chick that has no clue her boyfriend is gay! I mean come on! Ok Kelly stop rambling and WORK!
Maybe Colin Firth can get me in to the studio! Sorry Don!
Ok all, its been a long time since I have posted about my obsession with podcasts. Well I have been looking around for some new ones outside of the craft circle and I found a "must listen to" Podcast, ShopTalk: with the Budget Fashionista. What I like is the energy that this woman has! And I sure could use a little fashionista pumping up around here. I mean staying home with two kids while running a business from home. I don't always need to dress in fabulous shoes or look my best. But I try!
Kathryn Finney is a New York woman finding all the great bargains. I can not wait to do some shopping! On her podcast she features some of the fashion and entertaining heavy hitters. The podcasts a short and fun. Go listen you'll love it too.
And a book too? Cool, I am gonna look into that too!
Can you imagine the looks I would get wearingthese to a homeschool co-op or better yet the playground! I would kill for a place to wear these!
