Daily Pic 10.14.09 & Quilt Market Envy

Daily Pic 10.14.09, originally uploaded by ModernJune.

I can't bear it, I missed another Quilt Market. I know, I know I don't - and never will - quilt but I do love me some pretty fabric! I've made myself a promise to get to a Quilt Market. So for now I am checking all the sweet tweets on the subject, and may oh my we are talking serious eye candy!

My new go to blog, Stop Staring and Start Sewing, has some rocking photos! I "borrowed" her picture of the luscious Heather Bailey booth. I am so crushing on the new line of hers! Hmmm, I might just need some of that for the spring line! Ahhh, it's not even Halloween and I am dreaming of spring. Crazy.

fabri-licious

Like my new word? Oh this image just makes a girl smile! I luv me some repro depot! I say shop till you drop, and after you check out the new stuff tell me what your favorite fabric is! Then tell me what fabric you think I should make an aprons out of.

Image brazenly lifted out of the repro depot newsletter. Click here if you want to get their emails too!

FABRIC LUV

I am not usually a designer fabric kind-a girl. I like finding my fabric at JoAnnes and then buying tons of it. I like taking something that people just pass right by and making is wonderful. I do use some Michael Miller here and there. And I have used Robert Kaufman Cherries for a year now for the Diner Collection. You know me the fabric has to be kitsch! Then why am I in love with this yummy Ginger Blossom distributed by Michael Miller? Cuz it's YUMMY!

The wonderful Designer behind the gorgeous fabric is Sandi Henderson of Portabellopixie. This woman is fabulous! Here blog is sweet with fantastic photographs! (I am jealous!) AND she makes the most delightful kids cloths. This is what kids cloths should be fanciful and dreamy. These are my most favorite pants ever! I am afraid at ten Maddie would not go for these! Darn. Want to learn more about Sandi, I know I am wanting too, here is a link with links for an interview with Sandi!

I am waiting my fabric very impatiently (I mean patiently) to arrive in my mail box! It is selling like hot cakes. I found this at my local quilt shop of love, Quilting Adventures, my new favorite shop! Maddie and I went there last week and just circled the shop twice and only left because it was closing time. I had a hard time not buying some Ginger Blossom to make a mock-up apron while I wait for my wholesale order to come. I am getting the green and blue color-way!

It's good stuff!

Here is what we did buy! FUN right! Maddie insisted I get it! I love it!

favorite fabric

OH MY! Oh my!

The sale of the year comes early! Repro Depot has their Marimekko fabric on sale! Up to 50% off, no lie!

I am loving this! A LOT! I have a bath room that needs some serious love and I need some serious inspiration. the great thing about our tiny bathroom is that there is not a need for much fabric so I could use something like this to make a big impact! HMMMMMMMM!

Authentic Marimekko fabric from Finland!
Print designed by Erja Hirvi in 2005.

The fabric has a 33 in vertical repeat. You could make a three panel fabric wall art. Like How about orange shows us how to do! OH I like this idea a lot! Maybe not for the bath room but over the fireplace!!!! Thinking, thinking, thinking, all ways thinking!

Stay tuned I have some groovy ideas stirring up!

So much fabric so little time!

FYI if you are not on the reprodepot.com email list you should be because their sale page is rocking! RP was my first insight into really cool fabric. OMG everything I always wanted it fabric was right there at my finger tips.

At Renegade they had two booths worth of FAB Fabric chaos. They lined up about 6, six foot tables and there was just piles and piles of fabric stacked upon them. I could have spent a fortune. Here are a few of the wonderful things I got at that show!

You know me I love a good Jello mold! Oh yeah, that did not work out did it?

My post on fabric organization cards was a popular topic! I think this is a good idea wouldn't this be fun to rotate your favorite fabric and give you some awesome inspiration? I have yet to do this but it is on the inspiration wall so it can never be forgotten! Some day, Some day!
