Farmers Market Flowers

Who knew that a table filled with mix-matched jars and cups and a pick up truck could make me so happy!

I ran up to the Ashland yesterday to take a peek at my old friend Wendy's new shop (opening soon) and to get some yummy baked goods from my best buddy Christi (Macshack Acres) at the Ashland Farmers Market. It's a bit of a drive but totally worth it!

Especially now that I discovered what fun I can get for $6.00. You heard me! Six buckaroos. I've seen this woman at the market for years and I've seen her flower bouquets in peoples hands, always looking so lush and beautiful. Yesterday I had some extra time so I stood in the long line for flowers and it was totally worth the wait.

She's amazing. Right there in front of you she makes an arrangement. Wandering around her vast assortment of flowers, weeds (her words, not mine) and greenery, she's a bit like a mad scientist -- in the best way possible!! She mumbled to herself, much like I do when I pattern a new product.

Aren't these amazing??? LOVE!! They will keep me good company as I take on my big accounting/inventory-palozza today. We're switching all our accounting, inventory and shipping over to Stitch Labs during the next few days I need all the eye candy I can get! Don't fret if you see the shops closed for a few days, we'll be back and running better than ever ASAP!!

inspiration and a busy week

I have been super busy this week. The kids got one more day off from school on Monday, this was only cuz I slept the day away. After that it has been business as usual. School, Doctor appointments, a trip to the movies -- Mommas back!

(cool stuff that would be great in my B&M boutique--a girl can dream)

I have also been super busy in the studio. I have 4 shops that need filling up right away. Nicola Floral got a new round of goodies last night and Strawberry Fields gets a bunch of new stuff today. Next week I take Feathernesters their hugh Spring Order, they have ordered a bunch of new stuff, I have a new cherry line coming out and they got first dibs. We also have a new boutique in the mix, for them a ton Oilcloth Party Banners and Shopper Totes have been cut and are ready to be sewn.

(I wish my studio looked like this!)

I have been the loan sewer for the last week or two, pregnancy and motherhood took my beloved April back for a bit. (Still missing you!) The cutters have been working like mad Junies, all the pieces are cut and I am faced with a ton of sewing for the next 8 days. Scary but doable!

(More fun stuff I would carry in my little shop)

I have a great new addition to the Junie crew this week, I found someone to take over shipping and handling. Yeah for Gracie! And today a new stitcher grabs her first round of stitching. I am very excited and then another stitcher that can start cranking early next month. I am so excited, I need some sleep! Modern June is growing and I need my Junies!

Have a great one! BTW, the photos are of my inspiration wall. The post needed some eye candy.

RESOLUTIONS

I try to stay away from this very disappointing word. It is just a downer. If you don't lose 15 pounds your a loser and not the right kind of loser. If you don't save $1000.00 a month you are poor. On and on.

So I won't use that word I will use the word goal. I have some pretty cool goals for Modern June. Goals that will positively impact my family. I can not relive the madness of this Christmas. I am not complaining. Just realistic. My goals are so big and scary, it is hard to see them on paper. But I am forcing my self to right them down. I am also finally reading the The Entrepreneur's Guide to Sewn Product Manufacturing. Kathleen says that it all here in this one book, am I reading the holy grail? I think I might be!

Through out first section you are given permission to not know what you are doing. You are given "permission and time to learn. Just learn how the machine works and grow slow and smart. Don't be in too much of a hurry." Girls I have a new mantra!

I look forward to learning and reaching my goals someday!
