Maddies Garden

My sweet 14 year old daughter, Maddie, has been toiling away in the garden all spring and summer long! In April she noticed that we had a tomato plant volunteer, she has very good eyes, that one. Here is the first fruit of her labors, one tiny little tomato with tons and tons to come.

Spring Bada-Bing

 Last weekend was another great Spring Bada-Bing, the Richmond Craft Mafia's big spring show. Trust me this is not you Mamma's craft show. Before the show got going I sent my daughter, Maddie,  out with my cell phone to take some photos of the things that made her happy.

I've got my apron on, the music turned up and I am all alone! Tonight we celebrate Aidan's 8th birthday by having dinner with the Macomber's at the pool. My house smells great. Loads of fresh veggies and herbs are being prepared.

There is nothing like a fresh food market. I am ashamed to say that I have not been to one all summer. Shameful! Here are some wonderful pics that Maddie and I took today at the Lakeside Farmers Market.

U23D was all that it should have been! Wonderful and amazing! I love this new 3D technology it is so incredible. Bono, The Edge, Eric and Larry still rock my world! It is funny how four men from Ireland can make music that directly ties into so many of my great memories.


When Maddie was a tiny baby I sang U2 songs to her while I cooked dinner. I have this very vivid memory of her in the baby swing while I sang to her in the kitchen of our Grove Ave. apartment. One of those song stuck and became out bedtime song. We call it sleep tonight, they call it MLK, Unforgettable Fire. Maddie and I sang this song together at a talent show when she was 8. Holly Hobbie and Scissor Shirts

I just couldn't help but share this moment! Maddie, tired of waiting for me to make Holly Hobby a new apron, just made her own. She did it all herself except for the cutting, I cut it out because she is a lefty.

This i my childhood Holly Hobby, she has been well loved. She not only misses her apron but her braids too. My best childhood birthday ever was my Holly Hobby Birthday, I was 10 years old. There was blizzard blazing outside but my mom still took me and my friends to The Pizza Inn. We were the only ones there big surprise!!!! My mom had a cake made in the shape of my prized doll! I was so surprised! It was one of those icing dot cakes...It's all about making a memory, thanks Mom. You can tell that I snagged this photo. Sorry.

I need to buy Maddie a proper pair of shears. That would be a good birthday gift. Yes, a sewing kit! She would be to trilled! I really need to teach both my little ones to sew this summer!

I almost forgot, speaking of shears, check out the t-shirt I ordered off esty! I can't wait!!!! I really wanted a tunic dress t... I get that when I lose all that weight I am planning of losing this summer. Very sexy stuff. I really want the yellow shirt for Don. Too fab!
