Let me just start this by telling you that I am the happiest book author in the world! The next stop on my book tour is in Houston, Texas. In just a few days time I get to share my new book, Sewing with Oilcloth, with all the lovely people attending Quilt Market!! If you are coming please come to the following booths and visit me. I'd love to meet you!!!
Friday, October 28th:
3:10 to 3:40 Schoolhouse
Saturday, October 29th:
10:00-10:30 Book Signing at Oilcloth International
We have got some really (REALLY) awesome events coming up LIVE at Whipstitch in the next few weeks, and they all start this Wednesday. Are you ready? Kelly McCants, author of Sewing with Oilcloth, will be in the shop signing copies of her book and sharing her tips and trade secrets for working with these fabrics. Many of us think "oilcloth" and we think of icky, plasticky picnic tablecloths, but that couldn't be further from the modern truth! The 20 projects Kelly has put together in her book, using traditional oilcloth and the very popular laminated cottons that are out now, will change your mind. Meet Kelly, have some snacks on us, get some insider tips, and pick up a signed copy of the book!
We've added a few new prints in with our favorites for our largest selection of laminated cottons yet. Now you have 28 choices for your next laminated cotton tablecloth or splat mat. Click here to see larger views.
While I in Columbus at the Country Living Fair last month I had the pleasure of doing a book signing at Sew to Speak. While I was there I took a few photos of Aprils lovely fabric shop, I am just sorry it's taken me so long to share all the eye candy with you all!! If your ever in Columbus, Ohio you have to go do some shopping and say hi for me.
April had a comfy little corner set up for with a few gifts for her loyal customers, along with a copy of Sewing with Oilcloth she gave away several bundles of oilcloth fat quarters. You know I liked that!!
Cheery little corner filled with some very fun laminated cottons.
So very pretty, all of this makes me want to sit down at my machine and sew all day.
I love, love, love every bit of this ribbon.
Isn't this space completely inspiring? A big thanks to April for having me and to all her customers that came to see me at the shop and later in the weekend at the Country Living Fair. It was an honor!!
I figure it takes a real woman to know that she's not woman enough to actually wear 4 inch heels no matter how darn "Modern June" they are. I carried this one shoe around with me for a few day, but I only slipped it on once. I actually wondered if it was okay to own a $120.00 pair of shoes that you knew you would never ever wear. I think we both know the answer, so it's back to Amazon for these bad girls.
