It
always amuses me how we can take pretty pictures when we are surrounded
by a mess. Let me just say that I didn't intend for us to shoot in my
dining room on Tuesday. So there it it folks, what my house really looks
like while I'm writing a book. MESSY!!
Here's Meghan McSweeney
shooting really detailed how-to shots for my second book. She grabbed a
piece of junk mail off the hubbies desk to use as a tiny bounce.
I love it, we're keeping it real!!

Great Book: The Crafter's Guide to Taking Great Photos
before tweaking in iPhoto |
after tweaking in iPhoto |
So this morning, between math lessons with my son, caring for my sick girl, and preparing for my Junie's arrival, I stole some time to play. I've never in my life taken a photo with shallow DoF (depth of field, but I did today!
And I can't wait to learn more! We've got new doggie mats to photograph, and it'd be really nice if the photos looked great!! Stay tuned!!!

Local Shops: Feathernesters
Marc and Tony at Feathernesters, let Meghan and I take over the shop so we could take pretty pictures for my book, Sewing with Oilcloth!!

The best thing about this shop is all the little "rooms" that are nestled within the old vintage doors and furniture.

Don't forget the garden shed! Those chairs look familiar!
Frilly pink fun. I did a trunk show at Feathernesters once, and every single thing I sold was pink! Not a lie! Those ladies that frequent this shop love their pink!!!

Look, it's me! I took this after the Junie Brunch. For more Feathernester fun... click this!

Pearl's Cupcake Shoppe! |

My neighbors porch will be a great place to shoot, the evergreen will make a great backdrop. |

The kids and I had a great time picking out greenery today. We're faking spring! |

I stripped the dining room down to the basics so I could style it for a possible book cover shot. |

Every good sewing/craft book must have a cupcake in the pictures. |
