Porch Party Giveaway Day 2

European friend BobBeez!!!
Please send me your mailing info to Kelly@modernjune.com!!!

New size! Small laminated cotton tablecloths!
Happy Tuesday. Are you feeling the post holiday yuck too? I don't want to work today, I just want a few more days to relax!

My family and I had a great weekend and by yesterday's comments you all did too!! It's really fun to hear what you all did this weekend.

Saturday night we went to the Byrd Theatre and saw Bob play the mighty Wurlitzer and enjoyed Mirror, Mirror. I love that movie, it's hysterical!! Afterwards we hit the River City Dinner for root beer floats. Yummy!!

On Sunday we had an impromptu pizza picnic on a hill over looking downtown RVA and the river so we could watch the fireworks at Rockette's Landing. Even my grumpy, hates-to-be-outside, especially-at-night child loved it. I filled the picnic basket with plates, napkins and drinks. Then we headed to our favorite NY style pizza joint, Arianna's, and ordered an XL floppy cheese pizza. The company was good and the fireworks were great.

Monday was filled with normal weekend stuff. A few errands, a bit of work and what not. Don had to buy 2 new window AC units for the upstairs, so we did out part for the economy and holiday sales. (UG) I am happy to say that for the first time in weeks we slept comfortably!! sigh...

So let's get to another great giveaway. Today's freebie is a small laminated tablecloth, they are perfect for brightening up a side table on the porch!! You can pick from any of the following prints!
Please leave me a message letting me know which print you like best and you'll be entered to win the small tablecloth! I'll close the comment section at cocktail hour on Thursday!

Don't forget to sign up for yesterday's freebie a copy of Denise Gee's, Porch Parties book!! We'll see you again tomorrow with another great porch product.

You know I don't need two books, so guess what, we're going to give one away this week!! But wait that's not all... we'll give a little something away each day this week! SSSSSoooo leave us a comment to enter to win your copy of Porch Parties, tell us what special thing you did this holiday weekend. Vintage Tray Wall

I am so in love with my vintage tray wall that I finished up today. It's only taken me 3 months to get it all done. Why do personal projects take me so darn long? I've got to take some each week to get a little bit done for my home!! I have to say that the Country Living Fair sure did motivate me to nest a bit more!!
I bought the wire hangers from a very kind Etsy shop ower!! Marmee Rob's Shoppe They were great for the bigger trays, nice and sturdy!! For the smaller trays I used the sticky disc's that I got off of Ebay. I have to say they were pretty wonderful, just make sure you get out a measuring tape and really get the disks centered. You know I learned that one the hard way, at least you can reposition them if you don't get them right the first time.
I love these so much, I've been collecting them since we moved into the house 14 years ago. If my memory serves me right the large round coffee tray was the first one and was gift from my MIL!

Which one is my favorite? I have to say that the 2 BBQ trays really do make my heart sing!
What about the extras? I've got to have some laying around that I can use, don't I? We use our trays as project trays. Lego's, embroidery, or homework. Trays are great to keep things in one spot.

CFL Loot: Egg Basket

I haven't had a day off in over a month, so this weekend I am treating myself to two whole days off. In a row!  Isn't that crazy?!

I spent most of today helping my 14 daughter get ready for a dance. It's the second dance that's she's gone to. I was in Atlanta for the Country Living Fair the weekend of her first dance, so that one really doesn't count. We shopped for a few last minute things and made a special necklace to go with her dress. I did her hair and her eye makeup. It was wonderful, up until the moment when we couldn't find her shoes. Shoot!!

The rest of the day I spent puttering around the house cleaning things up. Most importantly, I gathered up my vintage trays and gave them all a good scrubbing. I'll be hanging them all up in the dining room this week. Finally!!!

Here is a little nesting project I finished up right after I got back from Country Living Fair in Austin last month. I found this old egg basket in the Antique Arena, it makes a fun magazine rack, don't cha think? I love my basket to much, it wasn't cheap and I just don't care. Heck, I regret not buying the other two that they had! (next time...)

Very Modern Laminated Cotton

I know that you know who Amy Butler is, but do you know her husband David Butler? I was very excited to meet him at the Fall Quilt Market and see his great new fabric line Parson's Gray. I loved  that he described his line as dude fabric. You gotta love that! I made sure to stop by his booth to let him know that we all wanted to have dude laminated cotton, from what I heard, I wasn't the only one that wanted it too.

I am so very excited to offer these great prints for our custom tablecloths, these will look great in your modern home!
David and Amy showing off the dude quilt!

How cute are they??
